KitchenAid Wall Oven F9 Error Code

Two explanations, one of them outside the oven

KitchenAid’s help article gives two readings for F9, which is also written F9 E0. One concerns the wiring that supplies the oven rather than the oven itself.

Explanation one: supply wiring

The article says the usual meaning is faulty wiring of the appliance where it meets the household supply or hard-wire connection. It asks that every terminal be wired correctly, naming L2 and N not swapped as the specific point, and says a qualified electrician should verify the supply installation. Terminals and household wiring are not a homeowner’s job.

Explanation two: line noise or early key presses

Following a power outage, unusual “noise” on the supply line may be interpreted by the control as incorrect voltage, producing F9, F9 E0 or PF. Touching any key before the 10-second power-up delay has finished could also do it. For this route the reset applies:

1. Breaker off for a minute, then back on.
2. Observe the oven for a minute.
3. Verify that the oven operates, with no keys pressed during startup.

Choosing the route

• Code after an outage, or after keys were pressed early: reset at the breaker.
• Suspected wiring at the supply or hard-wire connection (the most common cause): an electrician verifies the supply.
