PO is an alert

PO stands for power outage. It works as a notice instead of a fault code: the refrigerator lost power, and while it was out the freezer rose to 18°F (-8°C) or beyond.

Signs on the refrigerator

• PO is shown where the temperature normally appears.
• Three alert tones play.
• The word Confirm flashes on the panel and keeps going until you answer it.

How to dismiss it

1. Locate the MEASURED FILL button, which sits under the word Confirm.
2. Press it.
3. PO clears and the display goes back to the Home screen.

Purpose of the message

The aim of PO is to tell you the freezer warmed while you were out or asleep. The temperature given is a threshold set by the manufacturer and says nothing about the state of the food. Deciding about frozen and chilled items after an outage falls under general food-safety guidance, not this code.

If something else is on the display

The PO articles give nothing further. A refrigerator showing a different message, for example a blinking F, belongs to other entries.
